Cycling for Change Team arrives Atchison, Kansas
Evening events include mass and reception at Benedictine College
Atchison-to-Kansas City cyclists are invited to spend the night and join the team as they ride into Kansas City

Local cyclists may join the C4C Team for a Atchison-to-Kansas City ride
Or join the Turning Point Ride, beginning and ending at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Kansas City with segments for riders of all skill-levels
Afternoon celebration with Fr. Matt and the C4C Team at Rockhurst University campus including a lunch and Kansas City Social Service Exhibition - check out metro organizations that need volunteers
Evening celebration (adults only) at Airline History Museum
In addition to acting as a catalyst for change as they move across the country, Fr. Matt intends to raise funds for Catholic Charities of Kansas City- St. Joseph, Inc. for the expansion of the Caritas Center - a family center offering integrated and innovative programs for individuals and families endeavoring to lift themselves out of poverty. The Caritas Center, established in January of 2008 and operating out of a 6th floor office in midtown, is pivotal in Catholic Charities’ strategic plan for addressing the root causes of poverty in Kansas City and Northwest Missouri. The blend of services at the facility is very deliberate. Clients who come seeking help for financial hardship also find mental health counseling, housing counseling, employment resources and financial literacy training all in one place.
Proceeds from the ride will benefit the Caritas Center and permit:
Space for community education and training (i.e. financial literacy & parenting classes)
Growth of current programs such as Foundations of Hope and Foreclosure Prevention
Innovative program development to address root causes of poverty
Enhancement of programs offered for Pregnant Women and Young Families
Expansion of employment resources
Your contribution will benefit the many programs of Catholic Charities aimed at changing the cycle of poverty and it effects on children and families in our communities. In addition, your gift will help further Catholic Charities’ dream to build a one-stop facility with a range of services to meet the multi-faceted needs of people affected by poverty. This includes strengths-based case management, homeless prevention programs, financial literacy programming, employment training, and emergency assistance.
