Team arrives at 
Aloha Inn
.  Team will receive lunch and a tour of the housing program.

The Aloha Inn is a resident managed transitional housing program in Seattle, Washington.  We serve 66 adults at any given time and an average of 180 people over the course of a year.  Residents are required to save money every week for permanent housing, contribute15 hours per week towards the daily operations of the program, meet regularly with our housing counselor, and pay a nominal weekly rent.  We provide a number of services designed to assist people in finding and maintaining permanent housing.  These services include: housing placement assistance, job and education placement, medical care including dental and vision services, a weekly free medical clinic through the University of Washington, monthly legal clinic, free daily meal program, in-house computer lab, bus tickets, psychological counseling for people who lack insurance, smoking cessation services, in-house drug and alcohol support, and follow up case management for recent graduates. 

 
Tacoma, WA

Wednesday, June 2, 11 A.M.

Team arrives at Tahoma Family Center.  Team will receive lunch abd a tour at Hospitality Kitchen in the Tahoma Center, a meal and service center for homeless individuals.  Team will celebrate Mass at Noon at St. Leo Parish.  Following Mass the team will receive a tour of the the Tacoma Avenue Shelter, an evening shelter for men and women experiencing homelessness. 


Woodland, WA
Friday, June 4, 12 P.M.

Team arrives at
La Casa de San Juan Diego.  Team will receive lunch and tour of the housing program.
 

La Casa de San Juan Diego is a 75 unit apartment complex for farm workers and their families.  It is owned by Catholic Housing Services which is currently the only developer of permanent housing for farm workers in Western Washington.


Walla Walla, WA
Wednesday, June 9 & 10

The team is expected to arrive in Walla Walla between 2 – 3pm on Wednesday, June 9th after spending the previous evening in Umatilla, OR. There will be a welcome gathering at Washington Park at that time. At 6:00 pm lead cyclist, Fr. Matt Ruhl will celebrate a Catholic Mass at St. Patrick Church. At 7:00 pm a community potluck will be held followed by a forum on local poverty issues. The forum will feature a presentation by a member of the C4C team as well as local speakers including Dan Willms from Helpline, Nancy Carter from Commitment to Community, and Dr. Bart Moore from the SOS Health Clinic. The public is invited to all gatherings.

Join the C4C Team for Catholic Mass celebrated by lead cyclist Fr. Matt Ruhl

 

7:00 pm - 8:30 pm - St. Patrick Church,  Blanchet Hall

A community potluck will be held along with a discussion of local poverty issues.
Presentations will include a C4C Team member as well as local panelists including:

Wednesday Afternoon -   approximately 1 pm

Local cyclists are invited to join C4C as they ride into Walla Walla. They will arrive via Hwy 12. Meet them at the old livestock yards about 8 miles outside of town. 

 

Thursday Morning -8:00 am
Join the C4C Team as they depart for Pomeroy. Ride along for a mile two as the team begins the next leg of its journey
